West Bengal Man Injures Wife in Domestic Dispute, Attempts Suicide

A domestic dispute in West Bengal turned violent when a man attacked his wife with a sharp weapon during an early morning quarrel. The incident occurred around 6 am when Jahangir Alam allegedly assaulted his wife, Ruksana Begum, with a bladed instrument following an argument over a personal matter.

Following the attack, Alam reportedly consumed pesticide in what appeared to be a suicide attempt. Emergency responders and police rushed to the scene after receiving reports of the incident.

Alam subsequently surrendered to police, who took him into custody at the scene. His wife was transported to a nearby medical facility for treatment of the injuries sustained during the assault.
