Western Visayas records peaceful martial law anniversary observance
Police in Western Visayas reported no major incidents during Monday's commemoration of the 54th anniversary of martial law declaration. Security forces deployed thousands of personnel across the region to maintain order during the observance.

ILOILO CITY — The Police Regional Office 6 (PRO6) said Monday's observance of the 54th anniversary of the martial law declaration proceeded without significant disruptions in Western Visayas.
According to PRO6, the anniversary was marked peacefully across monitored areas in the region. The police office did not report any major untoward incidents during the commemoration held on September 21.
To ensure order during the observance, PRO6 deployed a combined force of 5,155 police personnel, augmentation units, and community force multipliers throughout Western Visayas. The enhanced police presence was positioned strategically across the region's barangays and municipalities.
The peaceful conduct of the anniversary reflects the continued stability in the region, authorities said. Police maintained heightened vigilance in key areas to prevent any potential disturbances while allowing citizens to commemorate the historical date.
