Wet spell expected across coastal Andhra Pradesh from mid-September

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted a significant wet spell across coastal Andhra Pradesh and the Rayalaseema region, with conditions expected to intensify from September 19 onwards.

The forecasted rainfall activity is attributed to the formation and intensification of a low-pressure area in the north Andaman Sea, which is anticipated to track northwest toward the coasts of south Odisha and north Andhra Pradesh. Such atmospheric systems typically bring moisture-laden winds and sustained precipitation to coastal and inland regions along their path.

Residents and administration across the affected districts have been advised to remain alert for potential weather-related impacts. The extended rainfall is expected to influence both coastal areas and the Rayalaseema plateau region, which spans parts of Andhra Pradesh's interior.

The IMD continues to monitor the system's development and progression, with updated forecasts expected to be issued regularly. Agricultural activities, water resources, and disaster management authorities are being kept apprised of the evolving weather situation to enable timely preparedness measures.
