Wet weather alert as depression forms over Bay of Bengal

The Department of Meteorology reports that a low-pressure system positioned over the Bay of Bengal to the northeast of Sri Lanka has intensified into a depression. Meteorological officials forecast the system could deepen into a deep depression within the next 24 hours as it continues to evolve.
