Wet weather to persist across southern Philippines through month-end

The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) forecast persistent wet conditions affecting Palawan, Central Visayas, the Negros Island Region, and the Zamboanga Peninsula through Wednesday, with the broader weather pattern expected to linger through September 30.
The Intertropical Convergence Zone, a belt of low pressure that triggers convective activity when tropical air masses converge, has positioned itself over the southern portions of the archipelago, bringing sustained moisture and unstable atmospheric conditions.
Residents in the affected regions are advised to remain vigilant for flooding and landslide risks, particularly in low-lying and mountainous areas. Local government units have been urged to monitor weather updates and activate their disaster response protocols as needed.
