Widespread Rain Expected Across North India as Systems Converge

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued forecasts for substantial rainfall across North India following the interaction of an approaching western disturbance with moisture currents associated with Cyclone Arnab. The dual weather system is anticipated to impact the Delhi-National Capital Region, Uttar Pradesh, and Haryana, bringing relief from dry conditions but also requiring preparedness measures in affected areas.

Western disturbances are seasonal weather patterns that typically bring winter and pre-monsoon precipitation to northern India. The convergence of this system with the moisture influx from Cyclone Arnab—currently affecting coastal and peninsular regions—is expected to intensify rainfall activity across the Indo-Gangetic Plain.

The IMD's forecasts indicate that the rainfall will be distributed across multiple days as the systems move through the region. Meteorological officials continue to monitor atmospheric conditions and are expected to issue updated warnings and advisories as the weather pattern develops. Residents and administrative authorities in the affected states are advised to remain alert for potential disruptions including waterlogging and temporary transport delays.

The rainfall, while beneficial for agricultural activities and groundwater replenishment, may also impact daily operations and outdoor activities. Schools, municipal corporations, and disaster management authorities in Delhi NCR, Uttar Pradesh, and Haryana have been alerted to take necessary precautions.
