Residents across Western and Sabaragamuwa provinces should prepare for several spells of showers throughout Tuesday, October 29, according to the Department of Meteorology. The forecast also includes rainfall in the districts of Kandy, Nuwara-Eliya, Galle, and Matara.
In the Uva province and the eastern districts of Batticaloa, Ampara, and Hambantota, showers or thundershowers are expected to develop after 1:00 p.m., indicating afternoon rainfall activity in these areas.
Meteorological officials indicate that other parts of the island can expect mainly fair weather conditions during the forecast period. Citizens in affected areas are advised to take necessary precautions, particularly those in regions where thundershowers are anticipated, as such weather systems can occasionally produce gusty winds and localized flooding.
The forecast reflects typical weather patterns for the period and residents are encouraged to monitor further updates from the Department of Meteorology for any changes to conditions.
