MANILA — Multiple weather systems are set to bring rain to different parts of the Philippines on Sunday, according to the state weather service.
The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) identified three main weather drivers in its Sunday morning forecast. Northeasterly wind flow is expected to impact Batanes in the far north, while easterly winds will affect other regions. Additionally, the intertropical convergence zone, a band of low atmospheric pressure common in tropical regions, will contribute to rainfall across portions of the country.
Residents in affected areas are advised to monitor weather updates throughout the day. Pagasa typically issues regular forecasts to help communities prepare for potential flooding and other weather-related hazards.
The weather bureau did not specify which other regions beyond Batanes would experience significant rainfall or provide details on precipitation intensity as of the early morning update.
