Sri Lanka's weather bureau expects scattered showers and thundershowers to affect several provinces throughout Tuesday, 7 October, according to the latest forecast issued at 05:30 a.m.
Misty conditions are anticipated in the early morning hours across the Central, Sabaragamuwa, and Uva provinces. Residents in these regions should exercise caution during dawn hours, particularly those traveling through highland areas where visibility may be reduced.
Showers and thundershowers are forecast to occur at several locations in the Western, Sabaragamuwa, Central, Uva, and North-western provinces, as well as the Anuradhapura and Mannar districts. The precipitation is expected to be scattered in nature, with intensity and timing varying across affected areas.
The Department of Meteorology advises the public to monitor weather updates throughout the day, particularly those engaged in outdoor activities or travel. Communities in the forecast areas should prepare for wet conditions and exercise appropriate safety measures during thunderstorms.
