A dramatic scene unfolded on a busy Lucknow street near Mahanagar Chauraha when a elderly man suffered a sudden cardiac episode while returning home from the market with his wife. The 60-year-old, identified as Anil, had been carrying vegetables purchased from a local vendor when his condition deteriorated and he collapsed on the roadside. Onlookers reported that his wife continued to admonish him even as he lay on the ground, reportedly telling him not to carry the potatoes as he was always in a rush.
The situation took a critical turn as the man lay convulsing on the street, desperately requiring immediate medical attention. A nearby police constable, Sandeep Yadav, who was present at the scene, quickly recognized the medical emergency and sprang into action. Constable Yadav administered cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) to the stricken man, potentially preventing a fatal outcome.
The swift response from the police officer highlighted the importance of bystander intervention in cardiac emergencies. Anil was subsequently taken to a nearby medical facility for further treatment and observation. The incident serves as a reminder of the critical nature of heart attacks and the life-saving potential of prompt CPR administration by trained individuals present at the scene of medical emergencies.
