KUALA LUMPUR: A witness testifying in Sessions Court here recounted handing over RM350,000 in cash to Sayed Amir Muzzakkir Al Sayed Mohamad, described as a former aide to Hamzah Zainudin, in what prosecutors allege was linked to a police tender contract.

The testimony centres on alleged irregularities surrounding a Royal Malaysian Police procurement process, with the cash transfer forming a key piece of evidence in the court proceedings. Prosecutors have suggested the payment was made in connection with the tender award.

The witness account adds to a developing narrative in the high-profile case that has drawn public attention due to the involvement of a senior political figure. The court heard testimony regarding the circumstances and timing of the fund transfer.

Hamzah Zainudin served as Deputy Prime Minister until February 2020. The case continues to unfold through witness testimony as the Sessions Court examines the allegations surrounding the PDRM tender matter.

The proceedings represent part of ongoing efforts by Malaysian authorities to investigate potential misconduct in government procurement processes and the involvement of political figures in such matters.
