A woman has been arrested in Indore following the death of her elderly father, who was allegedly struck with a cricket bat while sleeping at their residence in the Aerodrome area, police said on Tuesday.
According to Deputy Commissioner of Police Narendra Rawat, the woman travelled to her father's home late at night before carrying out the alleged attack. Officers are investigating the circumstances surrounding the incident and have registered a case in connection with the death.
Investigators told reporters that the alleged assault was motivated by long-standing grievances, with police suggesting that tensions related to mistreatment spanning seven to eight years may have triggered the incident.
