The incident occurred at a private residential address in the Bukit Batok area, where the woman allegedly set a fire as an act of retaliation against someone she believed was intentionally shunning her. Police investigations revealed that the woman and the home's occupant had previously worked together but had since parted ways professionally.

According to information gathered by authorities, the suspect harboured resentment over what she perceived as deliberate avoidance by her former colleague. This perceived rejection appears to have motivated the arson incident, which posed a potential risk to the property and surrounding residents.

A significant development in the case came when investigators determined that the intended target was not at home during the incident, having been overseas at the time. This detail raises questions about the woman's understanding of the circumstances that prompted her actions.

The woman has since been arrested and is assisting police with their inquiries. Investigations into the matter are ongoing as authorities seek to establish the full circumstances surrounding the incident and determine appropriate charges.
