Woman declared dead in Jharkhand murder case found alive in Gujarat

A woman presumed dead by authorities in Jharkhand has been found alive in Surat, Gujarat, approximately 20 days after murder charges were filed against her husband, police confirmed Wednesday. The discovery came after investigators analyzed digital evidence, including Instagram videos and mobile phone location data that indicated the woman's presence in the western Indian state.

Authorities in Jharkhand had registered a First Information Report based on the assumption that the woman had been killed. However, the digital trail led police to Surat, where Sachin GIDC police station intervened and located the woman safely. She has since been recovered and handed over to Jharkhand police authorities for further investigation.

The case highlights how digital forensics and social media monitoring have become critical tools in tracking missing persons and resolving criminal investigations. The recovery also raises questions about the circumstances surrounding her disappearance and the initial filing of charges against the husband. Jharkhand police are conducting further inquiries into the matter.
