Woman dies after scarf catches in Uber bike wheel in Gurgaon

Ritu Rani, 35, was pronounced dead after sustaining critical injuries when her dupatta (traditional scarf) caught in the rear wheel of the Uber bike she was traveling on in Gurgaon's Sector 86 area. The accident occurred near Sati Chowk as Rani was being transported home following her husband's medical treatment. The entanglement of her scarf caused a sudden loss of balance, throwing her onto the roadway with severe force. Responding emergency services found her with life-threatening injuries and she was rushed to a nearby medical facility, where she was declared dead on arrival. The Khedki Daula police have registered a case and initiated an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the fatal incident. The incident has raised fresh concerns about passenger safety measures on bike-taxi services operating across the National Capital Region.
