Woman from UP found murdered in Jharkhand rental home

Anita Bind, a 25-year-old supervisor at the Women and Child Development Project Office in Sonua, was found murdered in her rented room in the Sheetla Temple area of Chakradharpur on Tuesday. The woman, originally from Mirzapur in Uttar Pradesh, had moved to the Jharkhand district barely two weeks earlier to take up her government position.

Local police recovered the body following a tip-off and arrested Anil Kumar Bind, a suspect who was apprehended at the scene. Initial examination of the body revealed multiple sharp weapon injuries. The accused was produced before a magistrate and remanded in police custody for further questioning.

Investigators are exploring several angles in the case, including the possibility of a romantic relationship between the victim and the accused. Police said they are conducting a detailed probe into the circumstances leading to the killing and the events of the day in question. Forensic teams have collected evidence from the crime scene.

Friends and colleagues of Bind expressed shock at her death, noting that she had only recently relocated for her position with the state government department. The case has prompted heightened police patrols in the residential area where the incident occurred.
