A woman has admitted to running a fraudulent scheme in which she impersonated the sister of a Marriott hotel associate to secure discounted room rates in Singapore. Kao Jane Zhao entered a guilty plea to cheating charges on September 4, according to court records.

The scheme leveraged the associate's employee benefits to obtain rates not otherwise available to the public. By falsely claiming familial ties to the staff member, Zhao was able to access reduced pricing on multiple hotel stays across Singapore's properties.
