A woman in Sonipat, Haryana, has accused her husband of deliberately concealing his identity during their relationship and marriage, sparking a police investigation into the case. The couple initially connected through Instagram before deciding to marry, according to the woman's account to authorities.
The complainant alleged that she discovered the deception only six months after their wedding when she found her husband's Aadhaar card in his bag, which bore the name Javed Khan. This revelation contradicted the identity he had presented to her throughout their courtship and marriage, she claimed.
The allegations extend beyond the name discrepancy. The woman has also accused her husband of being previously married with three children, details she said were concealed from her prior to their marriage. These claims raise questions about whether she was provided accurate personal information before entering into matrimony.
The woman lodged a formal complaint at Sector-27 police station in Sonipat, seeking both protective measures and action against her husband. She has requested that authorities investigate the circumstances surrounding the identity concealment and the alleged failure to disclose his marital and parental history.
Police have registered the case and begun preliminary investigations into the allegations. The matter highlights concerns about identity verification and disclosure practices in matrimonial arrangements, particularly those initiated through social media platforms.
