A domestic dispute at a wedding celebration in Saharanpur turned fatal on Saturday when a woman was fatally wounded by her husband, police said. The man had travelled to his wife's maternal home to attend her sister's wedding when an argument broke out between the couple. According to police reports, the husband attacked his wife with a sharp-edged weapon, inflicting critical injuries to her neck. Emergency responders rushed the woman to a nearby hospital, where doctors pronounced her dead upon arrival. Following the attack, the husband also sustained self-inflicted injuries. Police have registered a case and begun investigating the circumstances that led to the altercation. The incident has sparked concern over domestic violence in the region.
