Woman pulled to safety after being swept away in Istanbul flash flood

A woman was rescued from rapidly moving floodwaters in Istanbul's Esenyurt district after being swept away during a sudden inundation. Passersby who witnessed the incident acted quickly to pull her to safety from the surging waters.

The rescue occurred as flash flooding swept through the western Istanbul neighborhood, with residents and onlookers responding to assist those caught in the path of the floodwaters. The woman's rescue highlighted both the danger posed by the sudden weather event and the role of community response in emergency situations.

Flash floods in urban areas can develop with little warning, creating hazardous conditions for residents and disrupting normal activities. Istanbul, situated on the Bosphorus strait between Europe and Asia, periodically experiences severe weather events that challenge city infrastructure and public safety systems.

Authorities did not immediately report additional casualties or widespread damage from the flooding incident in Esenyurt.
