Woman pulled to safety after falling into riprap in Baguio City

Police and emergency responders in Baguio City successfully rescued a woman who fell into a riprap formation in Barangay T. Alonzo on Sunday. The rescue operation was conducted by personnel from the Baguio City Police Office.

Baguio City Police Office Station 7 responded to a distress call on Sunday, August 23, after receiving reports that a woman had fallen into a riprap in Barangay T. Alonzo.

Personnel from the police station's Fixed Visibility Point 2 (FVP2) were mobilized to the scene and conducted a rescue operation to extract the woman from the rocky formation.

Ripraps—areas of large rocks or boulders placed along waterways and slopes for erosion control—pose hazards to residents and visitors in hilly areas like Baguio City. The woman was successfully retrieved and authorities did not report any serious injuries from the incident.

The Baguio City Police Office has not disclosed additional details regarding the circumstances that led to the fall or the identity of the woman involved in the incident.
