Woman's body discovered in abandoned Bengaluru plot during cleanup

Workers clearing vegetation from a vacant plot in Bengaluru made a grim discovery on Monday when they came across a human leg protruding from a bed frame buried among the overgrown shrubs. The macabre find in the Sampigenhalli locality triggered an immediate police response to the site. Upon investigation, authorities recovered the body of a woman later identified as Anusuya, 28, a resident of Odisha who had been missing. The victim's remains were found concealed within the bed frame, indicating a deliberate attempt to dispose of the body. Initial police examination of the clothing found with the remains suggested foul play was involved in her death. Sagar Chandra Rawat, identified as the woman's husband, was taken into custody following the discovery. The Bengaluru Police Department has registered a case and commenced a detailed investigation to establish the sequence of events leading to the death and determine the exact cause of death. Officials stated that further forensic analysis is underway to substantiate the circumstances surrounding the incident.
