Women dominate 2026 Philippine Bar exam applicant pool

MANILA — A female majority is expected to sit for the 2026 Bar examination, reflecting the continued feminization of the Philippine legal profession. As of early September, the Supreme Court had registered 11,900 examinees, with women accounting for 56 percent or more than 6,000 of the total applicants, according to Associate Justice Samuel Gaerlan, who oversees this year's examination.
