WWE Legend Rey Mysterio Eyes 2027 Retirement After Storied Career

Rey Mysterio, one of professional wrestling's most decorated performers, is eyeing 2027 as a potential retirement year, according to reports from WWE's internal discussions. The Mexican-American wrestler, who holds the distinction of being a 16-time world champion across multiple wrestling promotions, would cap a career spanning several decades if the timeline materializes.

WWE officials have reportedly begun preliminary talks about orchestrating a farewell tour for Mysterio, though final plans remain fluid. The veteran competitor continues to feature prominently on WWE's Raw programming, demonstrating his enduring appeal to audiences despite his age and injury history.

Beyond his WWE commitments, Mysterio maintains an active wrestling schedule with Mexico's AAA promotion, the legendary lucha libre organization where he honed his craft during the early stages of his career. His dual involvement underscores his significant standing across North American and Mexican wrestling circuits.

Mysterio's potential retirement would conclude a career marked by pioneering contributions to professional wrestling, particularly in popularizing high-flying lucha libre techniques to mainstream North American audiences. Should the 2027 timeline hold, it would allow for an extended farewell tour that honors his influence on the sport.
