Yadgir bandh threatened if water crisis left unresolved by November 6

Former minister Narasimha Naik announced on Tuesday that a bandh will be observed in Yadgir district on November 6 unless the government moves swiftly to resolve the ongoing water crisis gripping the region.

Naik, who represents the area, said the shutdown call reflects growing public frustration over inadequate water supply to households and agricultural areas. The former minister emphasized that residents have exhausted patience with repeated assurances from authorities without concrete action or relief measures.

The district has been grappling with acute water shortages, affecting daily life and farming activities. Naik stated that if the government demonstrates tangible progress in addressing the crisis before the scheduled date, the bandh may be reconsidered. However, without immediate intervention and viable solutions, the shutdown will proceed as planned.

Local authorities have yet to issue an official response to the bandh call. The warning signals intensifying pressure on the state government to prioritize water management and supply infrastructure in Yadgir district.
