Yamal inspires Barcelona to dominant Betis victory; Atletico wins late

Barcelona returned to the top of La Liga with a decisive performance against Real Betis on Sunday, capitalizing on a numerical advantage following the visitors' red card to run out convincing 5-2 winners. The result extends the Catalan side's lead at the summit to five points as they maintain their title momentum heading into the final stretch of the season.

Young winger Lamine Yamal was instrumental in Barcelona's display, orchestrating attacks and contributing to multiple goals in a commanding showing. The hosts displayed attacking flair throughout the encounter, punishing Betis on the counter and exploiting the space created by their man advantage.

Elsewhere in La Liga, Atletico Madrid maintained the pressure on Barcelona with a 1-0 victory at Espanyol. The Madrid side, sitting second in the table, claimed all three points through a goal in the closing stages, keeping themselves within striking distance of the leaders ahead of upcoming fixtures.

The twin results have sharpened the title race, with Barcelona's five-point buffer providing them a cushion over Atletico, though the season remains competitive with several rounds still to play.
