Yemen's Houthis report fresh Saudi air strikes across multiple regions

Yemen's Houthi rebel movement reported a fresh round of Saudi-led airstrikes across multiple regions of the conflict-stricken country on Monday. The Saba news agency, which serves as a mouthpiece for the Iran-aligned Houthis, said the Saudi air force conducted some 40 strikes in a single assault.

According to the report, the targeted areas encompassed four key governorates: Taiz, Hodeidah, Al-Jawf and Marib. The strikes represent a continuation of the military campaign that has defined Yemen's ongoing civil war, which has devastated the Arabian Peninsula's poorest nation.

The Houthi movement has regularly publicised reports of Saudi-led coalition strikes, though independent verification of casualty figures and damage assessments remains difficult given the conflict's intensity and restricted media access. Saudi Arabia and its regional partners have maintained an air campaign against the rebels since 2015, citing efforts to restore Yemen's internationally recognised government.

Yemen's humanitarian crisis has worsened considerably amid the prolonged conflict, with millions facing food insecurity and limited access to basic services. The latest reported strikes underscore the fragile security situation affecting civilians across multiple provinces.
