Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Tuesday observed Vishwakarma Jayanti with the inauguration of the Seva Sankalp Abhiyan at Prerna Sthal in Lucknow. The event brought together state officials to mark the occasion dedicated to the Hindu deity of craftsmanship and skill.
During the ceremony, the CM performed a lamp-lighting ritual before formally launching the service initiative aimed at advancing development objectives across the state. The event reflected the administration's commitment to combining traditional observances with contemporary governance programmes.
Addressing participants, Adityanath credited Prime Minister Modi with architecting the vision of a resurgent India, emphasizing that Uttar Pradesh's 25 crore population stood united behind the national development agenda. The Chief Minister linked the state's progress to broader national objectives under the current government's framework.
Vishwakarma Jayanti, observed annually on September 17, celebrates the birth of the deity revered across Indian craft and labour communities. The state government's decision to mark the occasion with a developmental initiative underscored the administration's effort to blend cultural observances with welfare and progress programmes.
