The fisherman, a resident of Barangay Balaoi, was discovered near a fuse box at the disused resort in Pagudpud, Ilocos Norte, according to police reports. Investigators at the scene determined that electrocution appeared to be responsible for the fatality.

The victim and his fishing companion, both from the same barangay, were traversing the abandoned resort when the incident occurred. Details surrounding the circumstances that led to the victim's contact with the electrical equipment remain under investigation.

Authorities have not yet released the fisherman's name pending notification of next of kin. The case underscores ongoing safety concerns at abandoned structures across the region, many of which retain operational electrical systems despite years of disuse.
