Youth arrested in UP for altercation with police constable

A youth was taken into custody in Banda district, Uttar Pradesh, following an altercation with a police constable that drew widespread attention on social media. The confrontation occurred at Kalu Kuan intersection, where video footage of the incident circulated online, prompting police intervention.

The arrested individual, identified as Abhishek, was subsequently remanded in jail on charges related to disrespecting and assaulting the constable during the encounter. Police officials said the man was under the influence of alcohol at the time of the incident.

When presented before authorities, Abhishek acknowledged his conduct and sought forgiveness, citing his intoxicated state as a factor in his actions. He apologized for the altercation with folded hands.

The Banda police department clarified that it would pursue strict action against individuals who attempt to take the law into their own hands or challenge police authority. Officials emphasized that such incidents undermine public order and would not be tolerated.
