K. Bharat Kumar, a youth from the region, collapsed on September 18 while attempting to provide electrical connection to a sound system connected to a DJ machine. He was participating in arrangements for Vinayaka Chaturthi celebrations, which culminated in the immersion of deity idols in water bodies.
