A youth died after being hit by a car belonging to Tamil Nadu Minister Jagadeshwari's convoy near Chennai, authorities said. The minister was travelling in an official government vehicle accompanied by an escort vehicle and her personal car when the accident occurred.
According to police, the minister's personal vehicle allegedly struck the two-wheeler, killing the rider instantly at the scene. The circumstances leading to the collision are under investigation.
Police arrested Chinna Agni, the driver of the minister's personal car, who hails from Madurai. He was taken into custody following the incident as authorities began their probe into the fatal accident.
