The YSR Congress Party has levelled accusations that the State Election Commission is disregarding reports of electoral violations during ongoing polling in Andhra Pradesh. The party has flagged alleged bias by law enforcement and administrative officials favouring the Telugu Desam Party.

The YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) on Monday alleged that the State Election Commission (SEC) has been turning a blind eye to multiple complaints regarding poll irregularities across Andhra Pradesh constituencies. Party representatives claimed that police and revenue department officials have been extending preferential treatment to the Telugu Desam Party (TDP), creating an uneven electoral playing field.
Beyond accusations of administrative bias, the YSRCP raised serious concerns about the adequacy of security arrangements at polling stations. The party pointed to a significant gap in surveillance infrastructure, noting that nearly 7,000 polling booths across the state lack closed-circuit television (CCTV) cameras, potentially compromising the ability to monitor and document irregularities.
These allegations come amid heightened scrutiny of the electoral process in the state. The party has demanded that the SEC take immediate cognizance of its complaints and ensure that security measures, including comprehensive CCTV coverage, are put in place at all remaining polling stations to guarantee a transparent and fair election.
The SEC has not immediately responded to the YSRCP's allegations. Election observers and political analysts say such complaints during polls are not uncommon, though the scale of the security infrastructure concerns raised by the YSRCP underscores ongoing challenges in implementing modern polling mechanisms across all constituencies in the state.
