YSRCP seeks delay in Andhra municipal voter rolls pending survey

The YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) has formally requested the Andhra Pradesh State Election Commission to defer the notification of municipal corporation electoral rolls, citing the pending completion of a Special Inspection Report (SIR) on electoral processes. The opposition party argued that releasing the voter rolls before the SIR's completion could compromise the integrity of the municipal election preparation process. According to the YSRCP, the timing of the roll publication should be synchronized with the conclusion of the inspection report to ensure proper procedural compliance. The party did not specify which municipalities or jurisdictions would be affected by the proposed delay. The State Election Commission has not yet issued a public response to the request.
