Zahid Urges Anwar to Halt Economic Policy Reversals

Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Ahmad Zahid Hamidi has urged Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim to cease frequent reversals in economic policy direction, citing the uncertainty and confusion such changes generate among the public.

Addressing delegates at the UMNO Annual General Meeting, Zahid expressed concern over what he characterised as inconsistent economic decision-making from the federal government. He stressed that rapid policy shifts undermine public confidence and create difficulties for businesses attempting to plan their operations.

The comments reflect growing tensions within the ruling coalition over economic management and governance direction. Zahid's remarks signal UMNO's dissatisfaction with certain policy decisions made by the Anwar Ibrahim administration, particularly regarding the frequency and nature of economic announcements.
