SAN ANTONIO, Zambales — The DENR Central Luzon office announced Monday that a 30-hectare forestland in Palauig has been selected for reforestation under the National Greening Program. The designated area, located in Sitio Dampay, Barangay Salaza, will undergo tree planting and rehabilitation efforts aimed at restoring forest cover in the province. The reforestation project has been established through a formal agreement that incorporates the forestland into the broader NGP initiative. The National Greening Program represents a key component of the government's environmental conservation strategy, focusing on expanding green spaces and combating deforestation across the country. Officials indicated that the Palauig site represents a significant contribution to Zambales' ecological recovery efforts and climate mitigation objectives.
