Zambales highway sections cut off by flooding as rains persist

SAN ANTONIO, Zambales — Portions of the national highway in Castillejos have been rendered impassable to light vehicles due to rising floodwaters, the Zambales Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction Management Office reported Monday afternoon.
The affected road sections are located in Barangays San Roque and San Nicolas, where persistent rainfall has caused water levels to rise significantly throughout the day. The flooding has disrupted traffic flow in these critical stretches of the national highway.
The provincial disaster management office issued the road status advisory to alert motorists and commuters of the dangerous conditions. Light vehicles are being advised to avoid the inundated areas until water levels recede and road conditions improve.
The flooding comes as the region continues to experience heavy rainfall. Authorities have urged residents in low-lying areas to remain vigilant and prepared for potential evacuations if conditions deteriorate further.
