MANILA — The government has not yet established a clear motive behind the shooting incident at Ateneo de Zamboanga University Junior High School, Interior and Local Government Secretary Jonvic Remulla said Wednesday.
"We don't know yet. It's too early to tell what it could've been," Remulla told reporters, indicating that the investigation into the incident remains in its preliminary stages.
Remulla emphasized that authorities will only present findings once they have verified the facts surrounding the case. The statement underscores the ongoing nature of the probe into the circumstances that led to the fatal shooting.
The DILG chief's comments come as law enforcement agencies continue their investigation into the incident, which resulted in casualties at the Zamboanga City educational institution.
