Zelenskyy disputes Trump claims over Starlink speed restrictions

President Zelenskyy indicated that operational constraints continue to affect the performance of Starlink and Starshield satellite services, suggesting that claims about their unrestricted functionality do not align with ground realities facing Ukrainian forces.

The Ukrainian leader expressed particular concern about delays in supplies of anti-missile defence systems essential for protecting against Russia's intensified ballistic missile campaign. These systems have become increasingly vital as Moscow escalates its aerial bombardment targeting Ukrainian infrastructure and population centres.

The remarks underscore ongoing tensions between Kyiv and its Western allies regarding the pace and scope of military assistance. Ukraine has repeatedly called for accelerated deliveries of air defence capabilities and enhanced satellite communication infrastructure to maintain operational effectiveness against Russian attacks.

Starlink, operated by SpaceX, has played a significant role in maintaining Ukrainian communications since Russia's full-scale invasion began in February 2022. However, questions have persisted about service limitations and their impact on military operations.
