Zetrix AI owes Road Transport Department over RM200 million

The Ministry of Transport has formally acknowledged that Zetrix AI carries a debt exceeding RM200 million to the Road Transport Department (JPJ). The outstanding balance relates to funds the company collected through its service channels but did not remit to the government agency.
According to ministry statements, the non-remittance of collected funds began in May 2023 and encompasses multiple service categories including road tax payments, driving licence renewal fees and traffic summons collections. The discovery of the arrears has raised concerns about the company's financial management of public funds entrusted to its care.
Zetrix AI, which rebranded from its previous identity as MyEG, operates as a service provider facilitating various transactions on behalf of government departments. The significant outstanding amount highlights gaps in the oversight mechanisms governing such third-party collection services.
The confirmation of the debt by the ministry marks an escalation in what appears to be a substantial financial irregularity. Authorities have not disclosed details regarding recovery efforts or remedial measures being undertaken to address the shortfall.
