Zoho expands AI capabilities with Zia Chat, enters vertical SaaS market

Zoho Corporation unveiled Zia Chat on Wednesday, positioning the unified AI interface as a solution to streamline business operations across multiple functions. The platform integrates natively within Zoho's existing ecosystem, providing users with a single conversational interface to retrieve information, generate leads, manage customer support issues and perform data analysis across sales, marketing, customer support, human resources and finance departments.

The company simultaneously announced its expansion into vertical SaaS markets with the introduction of seven industry-specific applications targeting retail, automotive, banking and financial services, healthcare, education, real estate and restaurant sectors. This strategic move signals Zoho's ambition to address specialized requirements within key vertical markets across Asia.

Sridhar Vembu, Chief Scientist and Co-founder of Zoho, emphasized the company's focus on accessibility and cost-efficiency. "Our goal is to commoditise intelligence so customers can get work done, without incurring high costs on tokens," he stated. The Zia Chat platform has been optimized to reduce token consumption, addressing a key concern for enterprises deploying AI solutions at scale.

Zoho said Zia Chat will address what it describes as an "interface crisis," where users spend excessive time navigating multiple systems to locate relevant context and data. The solution aims to consolidate these disparate interfaces into a single conversational environment. Early access to the platform will become available within the next month, initially supporting English-language users, with broader language support expected in subsequent releases.
