Zydus Wellness swings to profit in Q2 on strong revenue growth

The wellness company reported consolidated net profit of Rs 5.1 crore for the quarter ended September 30, marking a significant recovery from the corresponding period of the previous fiscal year when it posted a net loss of Rs 52.8 crore, according to regulatory filings.

Revenue from operations surged to Rs 1,126.6 crore during the second quarter, nearly doubling from Rs 650.5 crore in the year-ago period. The substantial increase in topline revenue was the primary driver behind the return to profitability.

Total operating expenses for the July-September quarter stood at Rs 1,125.4 crore, up from Rs 668.3 crore in the corresponding quarter of the previous fiscal year. The rise in expenses was broadly proportional to the increase in revenues, maintaining operational efficiency.

Market reaction to the results remained subdued, with Zydus Wellness shares trading marginally higher at Rs 486.25 on the BSE, up 0.63 per cent from the previous close.
