And when they are trusted, they can be empowered,” — Sazon, as reported by the Daily Tribune Background and agenda Sazon was appointed chief executive during the Covid-19 pandemic. Mynt credits her with turning GCash into what it calls a "lifeline for millions of Filipinos". Before Mynt she spent 12 years at Globe Telecom, where she headed mobile postpaid, SME and broadband. Earlier in a 30-year career she worked in food, consumer pharmaceuticals and personal care. She graduated cum laude in business administration and accountancy from the University of the Philippines Diliman. Her agenda now centres on credit. On 23 September 2026 she delivered a keynote at the UN Global Compact Leaders Summit in New York, arguing that Filipinos should be allowed to "borrow with dignity". She said formal account ownership among Filipino adults has risen from 29 per cent before the pandemic to 50 per cent. Formal borrowing penetration, however, is only 12 per cent, and about 40 per cent of Filipinos rely on informal lenders. GCash has extended credit to more than 11 million borrowers, about half of them women, using GScore, its AI-based credit-scoring system (GMA News, 23 September; Daily Tribune, 25 September 2026). "When people are seen, they can be trusted. And when they are trusted, they can be empowered," she said, as reported by the Daily Tribune. Regional reach Regionally, GCash has become a reference case for mobile-first financial inclusion in Southeast Asia. Sazon has presented it at the World Economic Forum in Davos and at an IMF Executive Board retreat, according to Mynt. What to watch: final pricing on 1 October, the strength of retail demand through GStocks, how the stock trades after listing, and whether public-market scrutiny changes the pace of GCash's lending push. She ranks fifth because she runs the financial app that tens of millions of Filipinos use, and is about to lead the biggest share sale the Philippine market has seen.
